Yelton Manor Bed and Breakfast puts you smack in the center of Michigan’s wine making area. Thanks to the wondrous micro-climate of Lake Michigan, cool in summer and warmer in winter, added to the sandy soil, grape vineyards are all over our area.  We can direct you to any and all of them.  Except for deep winter, there is always some kind of event wrapped around enjoying our wines, so check it out.

Our favorite is Fenn Valley Vineyards.  The wine making and tasting rooms are tucked into the vineyards, making for a complete treat for all the senses.  The owners are very hands-on, and the tours get A+ raves from our guests every time.

Just a short trip to the NE of us, with plenty of fun attractions along the way, like nurseries and greenhouses, antique stores, Saugatuck and Douglas for shopping and dining, Crane’s apple Orchards and much more.  Our favorite day trip always includes Fenn Valley Winery.

 Everyday People Cafe is just a short drive north to the quaint resort town of Douglas, MI. 

Enjoy a casual, chic attitude, the best food for miles around and, occasionally, live music too.

The menu changes often as the chef riffs on what is fresh in the markets.

Everyday People Cafe is so popular that the wait can be hours at the door.  They do not accept reservations, but….they DO accept “call aheads”, exclusively, from us at Yelton Manar B&B.  So ask us to make your reservation for you and you’ll slide past that long queue like a rockstar.

Just an easy stroll out Yelton Manor’s door, right downtown, is Maria’s, A Taste of Italy.

We are delighted to have two excellent Italian restaurants in South Haven, and Maria’s is one of them! 
With a casual, family atmosphere, Maria’s serves up fresh fare daily for lunch and dinner.

Family owned, with “homemade Italian sausage and homemade Italian meatballs made daily.”

Hawkshead Inn is a 5 minute country drive away from Yelton Manor B&B.  It is part of an award-winning golf club too, Hawkshead Links.

We recommend reservations and are happy to make them for you.

  Tello Italian Bistro, located right downtown South Haven, is an easy walk from The Yelton Manor’s front door.  Family owned and managed, a true South Haven treasure.

Tello offers a cozy and intimate atmosphere suitable for a casual get-together, business dinner or special occasion. Check out their menu here.
